I've been painting and drawing since I was a kid. I love drawing landscape and seascapes using Primacolor colored pencils. I like to challenge myself with each new artwork by drawing something I’ve never attempted before or using a new technique. Sometimes it works out well and others…well, let’s just say it was a “learning experience.” I call myself an “escape artist” because I draw pictures of places the viewer can “escape” to. If you look at my gallery you can see that common theme throughout all of my artworks.
Two other artistic hobbies are very important to me: photography and digital painting.
Taking pictures has been a passion of mine since my first photography class in high school. Though I've done a few weddings I prefer photographing nature.
As a gift, I recently received a Wacom Intruos5 graphics tablet that came with PS Elements and PS Lightroom. I have been having a lot of fun manipulating photos and learning how to use the many different PS tools. As of yet, I haven’t posted any of my digital artwork because to me they are just ‘experiments’ to learn the basics. I’ve been studying the digital artwork and tutorials of many fantastic artists here on deviantART to improve my PS skills. Hopefully, soon I will have the confidence to actually post what I’ve created thus far.
I really appreciate all those who have viewed my gallery and “faved” some of my artwork. The encouraging comments I have received have motivated me to create more artwork and expand my talents.
