Colored Pencil Painting - 8"x11"
This was a gift commissioned by my daughter for Christmas 2010. I love how the water effects turned out.
Story behind the art: About 70% of our Earth is covered with water. The world of the sea is like visiting another world. A beautiful world filled with things familiar and mysterious. Many plants and animals are colorful and exotic. Some are innocent and others are dangerous. In this underwater world families still exist. A mother still is responsible for teaching her daughter life skills and how to survive in this world. This bond and experience she will carry throughout her life…and one day to her children as well.
UPDATE: This won 2nd place in the Thiel-Silcox Fine Art Competition 2012.
