Isis is a very important religious figure in the ancient world. She is associated with funeral rites, as the enchantress who resurrected Osiris, and because she gave birth to Horus she is also the giver of life, a healer and protector of kings. In the golden days of worship an Isis temple matron prepares for the rituals of the day. As she stares across the Nile River at the impressive temple complex she contemplates her religious duties and faith.
